I thought it would be interesting to chronicle what I consider a set of plugins that Obsidian should come with just by default. This means:
- Doesn't demand 'learning investment' in order to use effectively...
- ... Yet still improves quality of life.
- And useful for any workflow (at least within the extent of my imagination).

There's a lot of visual real-estate in Obsidian, but you have a very limited amount of control over what buttons it can contain. Though the ribbon is more configurable (and less css dependent) than it used to be, this does nothing for the possible places and times in which you might want to do something.
As I borrowed from their page, even counting out the ribbon, there's a huge amount of potential configurability that isn't really accessible without using this.
While you can bind hotkeys to quickly execute commonly used functions, they aren't visually presented, many things aren't executed enough that it would be a significant performance disadvantage to instead have them as buttons, and again it takes a significant learning investment in memorizing as well as a careful consideration of what you use most in your workflow to create a useful hotkey map.
With Commander, we can use our GUI, and offload a lot of this work.
